Learner Tien of the United States clashes again with Daniil Medvedev of Russia, seeking his first ATP main tour final appearance at the 2025 China Open on Tuesday.

Medvedev extended his winning streak against Alexander Zverev to five matches after topping the German again 6-3 6-3. He has since improved this record to 16-10 after picking up wins over Cameron Norrie 6-3, 6-4, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-3 and Zverev.
