Just a few days after facing off in Serie A, Lazio Rome and Inter Milan will now square off in the Coppa Italia final. The match will take place at the Stadio Olimpico this Wednesday. Lazio are playing for their season this week. Currently sitting in 8th place in Serie A, they can no longer qualify for European competition through the Italian league. By winning the Coppa Italia, Maurizio Sarri’s team would secure their spot in next season’s Europa League.

Inter Milan has other ideas. Having secured the Scudetto with relative ease, the Nerazzurri are determined to complete the double. They sent a strong message to their upcoming opponent last weekend. Cristian Chivu and his men managed to defeat Lazio in front of their own fans in league play (0-3). They have no intention of easing up for this much bigger showdown. The Lombardy club seems to have everything it needs to live up to its status and claim another trophy as the season winds down!
