One of Wednesday's Major League Soccer fixtures sees the Los Angeles Galaxy and the San Jose Earthquakes lock horns at Dignity Health Sports Park. Having pulled a positive effort from out of the bag against LAFC recently, tying 2-2 with their seemingly suuperior rivals, Greg Vanney's men would surely have fancied themselves to kick on and get a result against San Diego at the weekend, but they were downed for a sixth time in seven games. Somewhat remarkably the 2024 MLS Cup winners are without a win this season. What a horrible time to be a Galaxy fan.
On the other hand, Earthquakes fans should come into this mid-week fixture feeling good. The visitors have lost none of their last seven games in all competitions, a run that has allowed them to push up the Western Conference standings. Bruce Arena's men are now in the all important postseason spots, which is absolutely not something that can be said by Wednesday's hosts.
