Having paused to accommodate the soon-to-end World Cup, Major League Soccer returns this weekend, and it’s back with a bang for the Los Angeles Galaxy and LAFC, who will clash in the first El Trafico of the 2026 season.

The Los Angeles Galaxy will continue to be without their star player Riqui Puig, who has now been absent since the end of the 2024 season with a serious knee injury. Joao Klauss will also miss out for the Galaxy, while JT Marcinkowski is another player who is expected to be sidelined thanks to a knock. Head coach Vanney has no other personnel issues to contend with, which means that key players Marco Reus and Gabriel Pec should feature.
