Charlotte FC visit the LA Galaxy on Saturday night in a matchup between two sides that began their 2026 MLS campaigns with hard-fought draws.
After a dismal 2025 season, LA made several offseason acquisitions in a bid to get back into the playoff picture. Whilst it's still very early days, the signs are already encouraging. Greg Vanney's team held a highly fancied New York City side to a 1-1 draw in their opening MLS fixtures, before another bright performance in midweek saw them edge out Sporting San Miguelito in the first round of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Charlotte's opening day at St Louis City wasn't a great watch for neutrals, but Dean Smith will have been pleased with his side's application and resilience in a tricky road game. If Charlotte can produce a similar display on Saturday night, they will have an excellent chance of picking up their first win of the season.
