UFC 328 will conclude with the main event that features two very controversial fighters. On their own, these men are controversial, but ever since this fight was announced, the bad blood began to boil between them. Khamzat Chimaev (15-0-0) will defend his middleweight title against Sean Strickland (30-7-0).
Khamzat Chimaev has been a force ever since he entered the UFC back in July of 2020. The only issue he has had has been with cutting weight and getting sick. Gilbert Burns gave him his best fight to date, while the rest of his opponents were either finished or dominated on the ground. It has been almost a year since Khamzat has fought. He won the title from Dricus Du Plessis back in August and has been waiting for his next opponent. Strickland will be that man, but he will offer a different style than Khamzat has faced recently.
Strickland pulled off the improbable when he defeated Israel Adesanya in the middle of 2023 to win the title. However, that reign was short-lived as he dropped that title in his next bout against Du Plessis. He picked up a split decision win over Paulo Costa but was subsequently defeated again by Du Plessis. He bounced back with a KO/TKO win over Anthony Hernandez in February and now gets another shot at the title. However, Khamzat will offer an even tougher test than the one he has faced in Du Plessis.

The two fights between Du Plessis and Strickland offer us a good look into how this fight should go. Du Plessis is one of the strongest and most relentless grapplers in the division. He had success getting Strickland to the ground and neutralizing his striking. Chimaev is likely to do the same. The only difference is that he has more speed and strength than Du Plessis. We fully expect Chimaev to get this one to the ground in any round they fight in and eventually secure a submission or a ground-and-pound stoppage.
