One of the four WTA quarter finals taking place at the 2025 US Open sees Karolina Muchova take on Naomi Osaka, who put on a real show when defeating world number three Coco Gauff in straight sets last time out. With that huge win under her belt, the women who won this prestigious prize in both 2018 and 2020 will surely expect herself to book a place in the semi finals. Before the tournament, Osaka commented on how she's improved both mentally and physcially after a tough period, and it's been clear for all to see that the multiple Grand Slam winner is now back to her brilliant best.
Karolina Muchova is a previous Grand Slam finalist, so she's no poor player, but it must be said that the Czech competitor has had to reach the quarter finals the hard way, needing three sets in each of her four matches so far. We know she's a serious battler and she can hang in there against some of the best, but does she really have enough in the locker to beat a player who is playing at the level of a world number one or two right now?
