In the finale of the prelim card on Saturday night, Julius Walker and Gerald Meerschaert will meet in a light heavyweight battle.
Just 27, Julius Walker finds himself in what is likely a must-win situation here if he wants to stay in the UFC. He debuted in 2025, where he lost a split decision to Alonzo Menefield. He picked up a unanimous decision victory over Raffael Cerqueira in his next fight, but he then dropped his next two fights. Dustin Jacoby finished him early in the 2nd round of their bout and was finished in just 8 seconds against Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev. Luckily, he will likely not need to fear an early striking onslaught from Meershaert, who is more of a grappler.
Gerald is one of the most veteran fighters in the division. He has 59 fights under his belt and is 38 years old. He is currently on a 5-fight losing streak, and the end of his career is likely in sight. 29 of his 37 career wins have come via submission, and he has defeated better opponents by getting a sneaky submission. Over his last 3 fights, he has found a way to lose in every way. He was KO’d by Oleksiejczuk, submitted by Daukaus, and lost by decision to Malkoun in his latest fight.

Our Julius Walker vs Gerald Meerschaert Prediction
If this were against a striker, we would have serious concerns for Walker. However, Meershaert may be the perfect opponent for him coming off that ugly KO loss in his last fight. The threat of getting caught on the feet again will be minimal, and if he avoids a grappling contest, he should be able to pick up this victory easily.
Our prediction for Julius Walker vs Gerald Meerschaert: Walker to win
