In Liga MX, Tigres has been unpredictable; Guido Pizarro's team started as the second favorite in the betting odds to win this Clausura tournament after finishing as runner-up in the last Apertura. The feline side currently sits in sixth place in an atypical tournament where they managed to defeat the powerful América 4-1 away but also draw 0-0 against Querétaro at home.

Even so, Tigres arrives at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez emboldened after achieving one of the best comebacks recently in the Concacaf Champions League. The series seemed lost when Tigres lost 3-0 to Cincinnati FC in the United States. But on Thursday, they turned it around, winning 5-1.
