Joao Fonseca of Brazil will slug it out with Jaume Munar of Spain in the semifinals of the 2025 Swiss Indoors Basel on Saturday.

Fonseca will go for his first ATP 500 final appearance on Saturday. The Brazilian defeated Denis Shapovalov 3-6, 6-3, 4-1 ret. to clinch a semifinal ticket in Basel. Fonseca, who defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 7-6, 6-3 in straight sets before securing a walkover after Jakub Mensik withdrew hours before their duel, improved to 3-2 in indoor matches in 2025.
Munar earned his place in the semifinals after beating Felix Auger-Aliassime in their quarterfinal duel on Friday. Munar dazzled early in the match to win the first set, but the Canadian made a surprising decision to retire despite not showing any signs of injury. Nevertheless, the win gives the Spaniard a shot at an ATP 500 final appearance. Munar has already played in two semifinals this year, but failed to advance on both occasions.
