Taylor Fritz of the United States is in for a testy fourth-round contest as he faces No.19 seed Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic at the 2025 Canadian Open on Sunday.
After squeaking past Roberto Carballes Baena of Spain 7-5 7-6(1) in the second round, Fritz put on a crisper performance against hometown bet Gabriel Diallo of Canada 6-4 6-2. Fritz wasted no time imposing his will on Diallo, the player who took the American to five sets in the second round of the 2025 Wimbledon Open. Fritz won all serves by capturing 88 percent of his first and 68 percent of his second. He also earned three breakpoints on 28 return points.
Lehecka thwarted the returning Arthur Fils 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to move into the fourth round. The Czech bombarded Fils with 12 aces while collecting 42 points off the first serves to win all but one service game. With the win, Lehecka improved his record to 14-6 on the hard court this year and 28-15 in the 2025 ATP season.

Our Jiri Lehecka vs Taylor Fritz Prediction
Fearless Forecast – Taylor Fritz prevails anew versus Jiri Lehecka.
Barring a miracle, Taylor Fritz should cruise to a straight-set win over Jiri Lehecka on Sunday. It may not be a lopsided two-set win, but Fritz understands the importance of closing out Lehecka if possible. Fritz has beaten Lehecka in all three previous matches, two of which were played on hard courts. This is not to discredit Lehecka, who deserves props for making this far.
Still, it is vital to consider that he defeated Fils, who has no form coming into the tournament after being sidelined for months with a stress fracture injury in his lower back. On the other hand, Fritz has compiled an impressive 17-6 record on the hard this year and 256 career wins on the surface – a testament to the American’s prowess on the surface.
Our betting prediction Jiri Lehecka vs. Taylor Fritz: Taylor Fritz 2-0.
