Indonesia’s star Janice Tjen is trying to reach the semifinal of the Sao Paulo Open in her WTA 250 debut.

Tjen booked her ticket to the semifinal round at Sao Paulo with a resounding win over 6-4 6-1 win over Alexandra Eala of the Philippines. Tjen dominated the exchanges with her swarming offensive attack, winning 21 points behind the first serve and breaking Eala five times in the match. The victory improved Tjen’s record against WTA top-100 players to 4-1 this year.
Jones made it to the final four with a straight-set victory over No.2 seed Solana Sierra of Argentina. Jones earned the decisive win over the 82nd-ranked Sierra by winning 65 percent of her first serves and converting four breakpoint chances. Jones is now 15-5 in hard-court matches and 45-15 overall in 2025.
