With a chance to secure the Big 12 title on the line, the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats (27-2, 14-2 Big 12 ) will host the No. 4 Iowa State Cyclones (24-5, 11-5 Big 12 ) today at the McKale Center at ALKEME Arena in Tucson, AZ. Fans can follow the action on ESPN once the game gets underway at 9 p.m. EST.
Arizona certainly appears to have recovered from the disappointment of the two losses that knocked them out of the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll. They took down No. 23 BYU at home in their first game after the loss to Texas Tech, winning 75-68. They followed that with a true test against No. 2 Houston and passed with flying colors, winning 73-66. Last week, they faced a scrappy Baylor team and won 87-80 and got revenge on Kansas, beating the Jayhawks 84-61. But Iowa State is no joke. They have also recorded wins against Houston and Kansas. However, they have lost two of their last three games, one to No. 23 BYU (79-69) and the other to Texas Tech (82-73).

Arizona is a great team and totally appears to have its groove back. Butas good as they are, Iowa State is not going to lay down and hand them the Big 12 title. Arizona has played a lot of ranked teams, and most of the games were pretty competitive. I expect the same to be true for this game. Arizona should win, but don’t count on them to cover.
