The Leagues Cup will be back on our screens on Wednesday evening, and it's now time for the competition to get super serious. We're down to the final four, which means that it's semi-finals time. The first semi-final will be an all Major League Soccer affair between Inter Miami and Orlando City, who will clash at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, where the hosts will be hoping to bounce back after a rather disappointing effort against DC United at the weekend. They tied that match, despite dominating the ball for most of the contest, which will perhaps worry coach Javier Mascherano, though they were without Lionel Messi, who is expected to return to the starting XI here, so there's no need to panic just yet.
For the visitors, the weekend also brought around disappointment. The Orlando boys struggled to keep with the pace of a rampant Nashville team, losing by five goals to one on the road. Such a result is not exactly what the doctor ordered ahead of a big semi-final clash. Can the men in purple pick themselves up, dust themselves off and get back on the horse? We'll soon find out.

Inter Miami - Orlando City SC: Form Analysis
Ahead of their weekend fixture in Washington DC, the Miami boys had been in decent form, edging out Tigres in the previous round of the Leagues Cup, which followed what was a pleasing home win against the LA Galaxy. Mascherano's men continue to look threatening in the final third, scoring multiple goals in five of their last seven, while they certainly know how to score goals at home, notching two or more goals in each of their last five home games. Such form bodes well, though they're yet to tighten up at the back, keeping a clean sheet in none of their last seven, which isn't ideal.
As far as Oscar Pareja's men are concerned, the weekend game in Nashville was something of a write-off.
I'm not suggesting that they lost on purpose, but I am saying that they approached that game with this huge semi-final very much in mind, which probably contributed to their downfall on that occassion. Prior to that defeat, the Lions looked strong, winning four on the spin in Major League Soccer, while they looked very sturdy indeed when making it beyond Toluca in the previous round of the Leagues Cup.

Key player Lionel Messi was given the weekend off, with boss Javier Mascherano keen to preserve the fitness of the veteran talisman. The Argentine is expected to come back into the starting lineup here, while there could also be a start for Luis Suarez, who featured from the bench last time out. Rodrigo de Paul and Sergio Busquets are also expected to come back in from the outset.
The visitors were without the services of Duncan McGuire and Wilder Cartagena at the weekend.
Both players are expected to miss out here too, as is Yutaro Tsukaka, who continues to recover from a knee injury. Neither Marco Pasalic not Martin Ojeda started at the weekend, though both are expected to return to the starting XI here.

The hosts continue to look very open and they are very easy to expose on the break, which will suit the likes of Marco Pasalic and Martin Ojeda, who have been in fine offensive form for Orlando City in 2025.
After all, when the pair met earlier this month, the Orlando boys notched four, while they scored three at Chase Stadium back in May.
