In an unprecedented season, no one expected the LA Galaxy, the reigning 2024 MLS champions, to be at this point in the Western Conference, with no chance of making the playoffs, having earned only 16 points from 25 matches. However, the LA Galaxy come into this match convinced they can turn their season around. After successfully qualifying for the next round of the Leagues Cup, they thrashed Mexican side Santos Laguna 4-0.
However, by the same scoreline, they were thrashed again in their return to MLS, this time at the hands of the Seattle Sounders, in another poor defensive effort, where Seattle generated 23 shots against the Galaxy's distracted defense.
In a highly anticipated match, the LA Galaxy travel to Fort Lauderdale to face Inter Miami in just the third all-time meeting between these MLS franchises. The Herons have yet to beat the Galaxy but have a greater than 60% chance of doing so on Saturday, according to betting sites.
However, Mascherano's team has performed well in the past, but without Messi on the pitch, who missed Inter Miami's last loss due to injury and is not expected to be back on Saturday either.
