The Indianapolis Colts (8-5) will have a tough time ending their losing streak at three when they head to the Pacific Northwest this week to face the Seattle Seahawks (10-3). Kickoff at Lumen Field in Seattle, WA, is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. EST with coverage provided by CBS.
Indianapolis had been struggling heading into last week’s game vs. the Jaguars, having lost two in a row. But when Daniel Jones went down with what was later discovered to be a season-ending injury, things went from bad to worse. Undrafted rookie and former Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard took over, and it is safe to say things did not go well. To top it off, Leonard got injured, putting his status in question for this week. Enter former Hall of Fame semifinalist and one-time Colts QB Phillip Rivers. Despite not having played in five years, the Colts worked him out, signed him, and there is a strong chance he starts this week. As for Seattle, the Seahawks have won three in a row and seven of their last eight (the one loss, 21-19 vs. the Rams on the road). Sam Darnold and the offense have been playing well, but the defense has really stepped up the last couple of weeks with a shutout vs. Minnesota and holding the Falcons to just nine points.

With how well the Seahawks have been playing of late, it is hard to get behind the Colts to win this one outright. With how Riley Leonard looked in limited time last week, it is hard to see him keeping this one close. Theoretically, a Phillip Rivers-led offense shouldn’t have a shot either. It doesn’t help that the newly acquired Sauce Gardner is out as well. But Rivers has been great in the past; he was a Hall of Fame semifinalist before signing with the Colts. If he can rediscover the old magic, he could make this a competitive game, and the defense can step up. This could be a competitive game.
