The Colts will try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive this week when they host the New York Giants at Luca Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Indianapolis. The Colts opened as two-point favorites, but the line has extended to 7.5 points. However, if Anthony Richardson is unable to go and Joe Flacco gets the start, the line is bound to move again.
Then again, it may not matter who plays quarterback for the Colts. The Giants rank second to last in run defense this season. Indianapolis has one of the best running backs in the NFL, who exploded for 218 yards last week. Much of it came on two long touchdown runs (70 and 65 yards). New York has given up the second most runs of 20+ yards (18) and the most of 40+ (5). If Richardson can play, it gives the Colts a two-pronged run game, but if he does not, they will have a better shot at a passing game with Flacco. New York will start Drew Lock at quarterback despite the two pick-6s he threw last week.
The Giants are barely averaging two touchdowns a game this season, but they are far from being the lowest-scoring offense of all time (1992 Seahawks, 8.8 ppg).

Whether the Colts start Anthony Richardson or Joe Flacco, Indianapolis should have no problem winning this game. No matter who they have at quarterback, the passing game doesn’t work, and whatever magic Tyrone Tracy Jr. had appears to have expired. He hasn’t gained more than 45 yards in a game since running for 103 yards vs. Carolina in Munich (Week 10). To be fair, the Colts offense hasn’t been too reliable, either. But there is more reason to have hope they’ll put some offense together than the Giants. Indianapolis will improve to .500 with a win in this game.
