The Houston Texans host the Indianapolis Colts in an AFC South matchup between two teams htat have headed in vastly different directions. The Colts started the year 8-2, seemingly on track to return to the playoffs and make a real run at the No. 1 seed. Instead, Indianapolis is now 8-8, losers of six straight and guaranteed to miss the playoffs again.
The Texans, on the other hand, are once again in the playoffs. However, Houston doesn’t know where it’s going to be playing just yet. The Texans can seal no worse than the No. 5 seed by beating Indianapolis, and if Tennessee can somehow upset equally-hot Jacksonville, the Texans would win the AFC South and host a playoff game. If, as expected, the Titans don’t provide help, Houston will be on its way to either Pittsburgh or Baltimore with a win.

Our Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts Prediction
That Houston’s going to win this game isn’t really in question. Indianapolis has been running on fumes ever since Daniel Jones tore his Achilles against Jacksonville. The Colts lost that game in blowout fashion, but they have played hard even without Jones. They fell to Seattle and Jacksonville by one possession each, and the three-touchdown loss to San Francisco happened because Philip Rivers got aggressive trying to bring the Colts back and threw a pick-six.
Houston doesn’t blow teams out. The Texans have kept winning, but they allow teams to hang around with them far longer than they should. Only Arizona, which hasn’t done anything at all since Week 2, lost to Houston by more than 10 points. The Texans have faced truly awful teams in Las Vegas and Tennessee, and won those two games by a combined five points. That says this spread is far too high. Indianapolis is almost certainly going to lose, but the Colts should make the Texans work. Our prediction for Indianapolis vs. Houston is Colts +10.
