As could be expected, the Spurs opened as massive favorites (-17.5), but the spread has since increased to 18.5 points. It makes sense; San Antonio is one of the best teams in the NBA and currently the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. San Antonio’s most recent loss, 136-131 vs. Denver, was just their second home loss in 2026. The team won its last game, 101-100, against the Phoenix Suns (at home). As for the Pacers, after Wednesday’s 127-119 home loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana has lost 15 in a row. Injuries have, of course, played a factor in the streak; several players are listed as game-time decisions, but Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard have already been ruled out.

It is a massive spread, but we are talking about one of the best teams in the NBA with one of the league’s biggest rising stars in Victor Wembanyama, and one of the league’s worst teams whose roster has been ravaged by injuries. However, there have been games where the Pacers have been surprisingly competitive this season. Yes, the Pacers only lost by ten to the Spurs earlier this season at home, but this game is in San Antonio, the Spurs did not have Wemby for that game, and the Pacers had Siakam and Nembhard.
With those guys out and Wemby in, the mismatch here is pretty significant. San Antonio should absolutely cover at home.
