The Big Ten Tournament rolls on Thursday with second-round action starting with the Indiana Hoosiers (19-12, 10-10) taking on the No. 23 Oregon Ducks (23-8, 12-8 ). Fans can tune in via the Big Ten Network at 12 p.m. ET to catch the action.
Indiana hit a rough patch early in their Big Ten slate, losing eight of ten games, starting with an 85-60 thumping vs. Iowa (Jan. 11) and ending with a four-point loss to UCLA 72-68 on Valentine’s Day. They went on to win five of their last seven, improving their record to 19-12. However, to make it to the NCAA Tournament, they’ll likely need to win a game or two in the Big Ten Tournament.
Oregon’s good run of bad luck was not as bad as Indiana’s. They lost six of seven, starting with Purdue (65-58) on Jan. 18 and stopping with a loss to Michigan State on Feb. 8 (86-74). But they finished the year on a solid run, winning seven in a row, including a Mar. 4 date with the Hoosiers (73-64). IU played the game tight in the first half, trailing by three at the break, 35-32. The Hoosiers kept it close in the second half, taking a one-point lead with about a minute and a half to go, but Oregon finished with a 10-0 run to secure the win.

Their loss to Oregon was much closer than the final score indicates. I don’t feel like it’s worth it to take the points, but the ML definitely has value.
