Jakub Mensik of Czech Republic will again try to take his sweltering form into the quarterfinals of the 2025 Rome Masters against the resurging Hubert Hurkacz of Poland in the fourth round on Monday.
Mensik posted his second straight-set victory on Monday, beating Fabian Marozsan of Hungary 6-4 7-6(2). Mensik, who captured his first ATP 1000 event title in Miami over a month ago, has won five of his seven clay-court matches this year. He also reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 Madrid Open, losing a tough battle to Francisco Cerundolo 3-6 7-6(5) 6-2.
Hurkacz hacked out a 6-3 1-6 6-1 win over Marcos Giron of the United to make a round-of-16 appearance in Rome. The Pole banked on his service game to gut out a tough win over the American, winning 80 percent of his first serves on top of 12 aces. He also captured 4 breakpoint conversions behind 25 return points.
