The Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros face off again Tuesday at American Family Field in the second game of their three-game series. The Brewers took the opener on Monday night with a convincing 5-1 win, despite the Astros entering the game as betting favorites.
Milwaukee's offense came alive early, with Brice Turang continuing his impressive start to the season and Christian Yelich providing the big blow with a two-run home run. On the mound, Tobias Myers delivered a strong performance, pitching into the sixth inning while limiting Houston’s offense. The Brewers’ bullpen was equally sharp, with Jared Koenig and Grant Anderson each pitching clean innings and preventing any real scoring threats.
The Astros, on the other hand, struggled to capitalize on opportunities. Despite tallying nine hits, they managed just one run and stranded 15 runners on base. Only three Astros baserunners reached scoring position all game.
Houston’s offensive struggles were compounded by the absence of star slugger Yordan Alvarez, who was placed on the injured list earlier in the day due to inflammation in his right hand. Without Alvarez in the lineup, the Astros’ lineup lacked the firepower needed to keep pace.

Milwaukee will send Chad Patrick to the mound, while Houston counters with Hayden Wesneski. Patrick will be making his first start of the season, while Wesneski looks to find consistency in his role for the Astros.
While neither Patrick nor Wesneski is a proven starter this season, Patrick is an unknown quantity with upside. Wesneski has shown inconsistency, and the Brewers have been effective at capitalizing on shaky pitching. If Patrick gives Milwaukee 4–5 decent innings, their bullpen — which held Houston scoreless after the sixth in Game 1 — could shut things down again.
Statistically, the Brewers have been the more potent offensive team, ranking 10th in MLB in runs scored. The Astros, in contrast, have struggled to drive in runs, sitting 19th in total offense with just 133 runs scored so far this year.
Given the current momentum and the way both teams are trending, the Brewers appear to have the edge once again. With their offense clicking and the bullpen locking down late innings, Milwaukee is in a good position to take Game 2.
