Grigor Dimitrov’s quarterfinal streak is on the line on Wednesday as the Bulgarian dukes it out with Canadian rising star Gabriel Diallo in the fourth round of the 2025 Madrid Masters.

Ranked No.78 in the world, Diallo will be playing Dimitrov, a former top-10 player, for the first time ever.

As much as I want Diallo to continue his fairy-tale run in Madrid, I don’t give him much chance against the former world No.3 Grigor Dimitrov. Diallo is 1-6 vs. the ATP top-20 players and hasn’t defeated a player of Dimitrov’s caliber in this tournament. Cameron Norrie might be a former top-10 player but he’s not as accomplished as Dimitrov is, not to mention that the Brit has been borderline mediocre in the past few years.
