The Washington Mystics host the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday at CareFirst Arena, seeking their third win in four games.
The Mystics got back up to .500 after routing the Chicago Sky 103-86. Sonia Citron spearheaded Washington’s attack, posting 28 points on 10-for-15 shooting. She got plenty of help from her teammates, notably Kiki Iriafen and Brittney Skyes. Iriafen filled in the stats sheet with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in 30 minutes, while Brittney Sykes posted 18 points and six dimes in 32 minutes of play.
The Valkyries are also fresh off a win as they edged the Atlanta Dream 77-75. Cecilia Zandalasini fired 18 points off the bench and knocked down a short jumper to break a 75-75 tie with 3.9 seconds left. With the victory, Golden State improved to 12-13 in its maiden season, keeping itself in the race for a postseason spot.
