Girona return home to face Sevilla as they search for a reset after a disastrous beginning to their season. Their opener ended in defeat on their own ground, where individual mistakes and defensive disorganization proved costly. A red card for the goalkeeper compounded matters, and they were punished clinically by their opponents.

Hopes of bouncing back were dashed in their second game, which ended in a five-goal thrashing. Conceding eight goals in just two outings has left Girona with one of the worst defensive records in the division at this early stage. Having gathered no points and a minus goal difference, they are at the bottom of the table and are even facing growing pressure.

Sevilla, though a resilient LaLiga team in the past, also began the campaign slow. Their first game was an open, free-scoring game but unfortunately for them, they had conceded thrice while only scoring twice and leaving empty-hands. There was no respite in their second game with a second straight result ending on the wrong side for a team which didn't even manage a goal at their own turf while once again conceding.

Like bottom-of-the-table Girona, they are relegated to the bottom of the table with nil points after two games. Defensively, they have appeared vulnerable at the end of matches, and in attack not consistent even if there have been flashes of class. Both clubs desperately need a win, so this meeting should provide a jump-starter for both in their campaign.
