On Thursday evening, I'm also hugely interested in the UEFA Europa League game that will unfold at Cegeka Arena, where Genk and Basel will clash in a battle between Belgium and Switzerland. Both teams are nicely poised in the UEL standings, with both sitting in the knockout play-off places, knowing that one win could be all it takes to enter the all-important top eight.
On home soil, it's been low-key stuff from Thursday's hosts, who ground out a 0-0 tie against Betis last time out in this competition. They'll be looking for a little more in the final third, but will also be keen to retain that defensive solidity. The visitors have struggled slightly away from home losing two out of two, scoring only one goal, so they too will be hoping to improve in the final third.

What we've seen from each of these two teams over the first four rounds of UEL games is a lack of offensive power, so I am a little surprised to see that 'Under 2.5 Goals' is priced at +130 in the early betting. Such odds look too generous and are worth taking as far as I'm concerned. After all, the hosts really are struggling to score goals at home, and not just on the continent, where they've twice failed to score in front of a home crowd this season.
The Genk boys failed to score at home to Betis last time out in this competition, while they also failed to find the net at home to Ferencvaros. At the other end, they've been sturdy, though, conceding just one goal in two home UEL games. Factor in that the visitors have scored just one goal on the road and a low-scoring game starts to look more likely than the early odds suggest.
