Hit with back-to-back home fixtures, Fulham host West Ham in their second London derby in a row this Wednesday evening. Coming here with multiple recent wins in the bank, the hosts should be filled with plenty of enthusiasm, especially as they’ve claimed four wins out of their last five at home. 

The Cottagers delivered a rock-solid performance in their last game against Spurs, looking much the better side, certainly reflecting their rankings. As a result, their up-and-down season continues; they’re now back in the top half, with a win taking them level with 7th place.

Seeing this very promising show last time out, it would be very easy to think that Fulham will want to capitalise once again, picking up points where possible, up against a side battling relegation, and who have conceded the second highest number of goals this season. 

Although they’re conceding far too much, The Hammers do get stuck in offensively, putting away two goals at Anfield last time out, plus scoring multiple goals in five out of their last seven. This should be a rather open game.

I tipped Jiménez to score in Fulham’s last game, at home against Tottenham. It turned out he didn’t score, but the early odds are still generous this time round, at home again against a very similar team. Looking at the odds for this game, I am more than happy to stay with this bet.

Despite not hitting the back of the net, the Mexican created two shots with an xG of 0.43 last time out. In all of his last seven games, Jiménez has created multiple shots, netting twice during that time. 

Likewise, he is averaging a very enticing 3.01 shots per home game this season, so surely he’ll get chances against a West Ham conceding an average of 1.93 goals per away game. Seeing as he hasn’t scored in his last four home appearances, his next goal is rapidly approaching as he continues to shoot lots and looks hungry.
