The 35-26-9 Philadelphia Flyers will host the 45-20-4 Florida Panthers on Sunday. Things have flipped for the Flyers of late, they were strong on the road but not at home earlier this season but they have lost seven of their last 10 on the road, winning seven of 10 at home. Two of those three wins on the road have come in Florida so they have been a stumbling block for the Panthers. This is the second half of a back-to-back for the Flyers who take on the Boston Bruins on Saturday, they are 5-3-2 in the back half so far this season. Travis Konecny leads the team with 59 points, with Joel Farabee a single point away from 50. Both are having a career-best season for a team who are middle of the road in both offense and defense.
This is also a back-to-back for the Panthers who are in New York on Saturday to play the Rangers. The Panthers have been excellent in this situation this season with a 5-0-1 record on day two. They have been on a bit of a poor run of late though, on only their second losing streak that has gone beyond two games all season, shut out in two of their last three games ahead of their visit to the Big Apple. In terms of points, they are a top-heavy team with four players having 66 or more points this season but the fifth-best only has 36, a massive gap between the big point-getters and the rest. Carter Verhaeghe only has two points in his last seven games and if the form of any of the big four drops, it puts pressure on others to step up.
