The Florida Panthers (47-24-5 SU, 36-40 ATS) try to right the ship against the suddenly hot Ottawa Senators (33-37-4 SU, 38-36 ATS). Despite having nothing to play for, the Senators are playing their best hockey of the season, winning five of their past six. The Ottawa defense has been mostly responsible, holding their past three opponents to 30 shots on goal or less.
The Panthers have played poorly as of late, winning just two games in their past 10 contests. Florida doesn't have to worry about falling out of the playoff picture, as the Panthers have clinched a spot. But they still have plenty of incentive to play hard, as they're chasing Boston for the Atlantic Division title. Winning the division lands a reasonable matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning or another wild card; coming second would mean facing the dangerous Toronto Maple Leafs right out of the gate.

The Panthers are on their third game in four days and didn't look good against either Toronto or Montreal. Losing to the Maple Leafs is reasonable; losing to the Canadiens far less so. Florida appears to be running out of steam a bit and letting itself down on the defensive end.
Ottawa's recent win streak came against some solid opponents, as the Senators handled both Edmonton and Winnipeg before falling short at Minnesota. The Senators' defense hasn't been the problem for most of the past five weeks, as 12 of their past 15 opponents have only managed three goals or less in regulation. When the Panthers have handled the Senators, it's been because they've buried Ottawa in shots and taken advantage of the Senators' generous defense. With Ottawa tightening up and Florida reeling, our prediction for Florida vs. Ottawa is for the Senators to win.
