The Bruins will welcome the Florida Panthers to Boston in a rematch of last year’s thrilling first round series. The record-breaking season for Boston ended in dismay, as Florida defeated Boston in 7 games, including a late Game 7 comeback at TD Garden. Boston fans will not have forgotten that day, so expect a raucous crowd on Saturday afternoon. Both teams have been incredible this season, representing two of the best records in the Eastern Conference. Each has qualified for the playoffs already but still would like to improve upon their points totals as they face off for the number one seed. The Bruins (45-17-15) have suffered from poor overtime play as evidenced by their 15 losses in that fashion, giving them a 4-point cushion in the Eastern Conference standings. Such defeats are concerning for a team heading into the playoffs when overtime games are frequent.
