South Carolina is coming off a disappointing loss to Texas on Sunday (66-62). The team had a dreadful day from the floor, shooting 36.8%, well below their season average of 46.7%. Only one player scored in double digits; MiLaysia Fulwiley had 13 in 21 minutes off the bench. However, the Gamecocks should find it much easier to put up points on Florida’s defense (No. 295 in the country; Texas’ defense is ranked No. 41). However, while the Gamecocks are heavy favorites in this game, it would be a mistake for them to overlook this talented Florida squad. Senior Ra Shaya Kyle is a consistent double-double threat, averaging 15 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Three other players average in double digits for the Gators, including potential Freshman of the Year candidate Liv McGill, who leads the team with 16.4 points per game. She is also the only freshman in the nation to record a triple-double (21/11/10 vs. Missouri on Jan. 12).

Their average scoring margin this season is 24.5 points. But they beat only three of their last eight opponents by 31.5+ points and beat Florida by 23 earlier in the season. However, the Gamecocks were looking for blood after their previous loss, 77-62 vs. UCLA on Nov. 24, and destroyed then-No. 15 Iowa State 76-36.
