The Miami Hurricanes will try to keep the good times rolling Saturday night (Sept. 20) when they host their in-state rivals, the Florida Gators, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. Kickoff for this ACC-SEC battle is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ABC.

Miami comes into this game ranked No. 4 in the country and undefeated with two wins over ranked teams and one over a top ten squad (No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 18 South Florida). Carson Beck has started to come into his own as the QB of the ‘Canes, throwing for 340 yards last week against USF. The Gators are certainly going to have trouble slowing down Miami’s ferocious defensive front. They will need to, of course, since it has become apparent that DJ Lagway, while talented and capable, still has a lot to learn about playing college football at the highest level. After thumping Long Island in Week 1 (as they should), Florida dropped two; they got upset by South Florida, 18-16, and lost to LSU at The Swamp, 20-10.

Hopes were high for Florida after Lagway went 6-1 as a starter last season. As for the Hurricanes, they appear to be developing into the contender many expected them to become.
