Novak Djokovic of Serbia will try to move closer to another Grand Slam title on Saturday, as he faces Filip Misolic of Latvia in the third round of the 2025 French Open.
Djokovic has now won his last six matches, producing another straight-set win over Corentin Moutet of France 6-3 6-2 7-6(1). Djokovic, who ended his clay-court slump with four wins in a row to win the Geneva Open, continued his resurgence as he recorded another three-set victory two days after similarly blasting McKenzie McDonald 6-3 6-3 6-3.
Misolic advanced to the third round after surviving another marathon match against Denis Shapovalov of Canada, 7-6(5), 7-6(6), 4-6, 4-6, 6-3. Misolic, who overcame Bu Yunchaokete of China in an action-packed four setter 5-7 7-6(3) 7-6(4) 6-1, stormed to a 2-0 set lead after edging Shapovalov in the two tiebreakers in the first and two sets but struggled to close out the Canadian in the third and fourth set, forcing a decider. Misolic regained his rhythm in the 5th set to wrap up a highly entertaining match.
