Veteran Ghanaian defender Lalas Abubakar has taken on the leadership role for FC Dallas in the decisive stage of the MLS season, where it will be decided whether the Texan team will qualify directly for the playoffs, secure a play-in spot, or be eliminated. Abubakar stated that his team needs to become a brotherhood heading into the final three rounds of the regular season, in addition to being honest with each other in order to improve.
FC Dallas heads into the final stretch of the regular season in the ideal position. They will face the reigning champion, albeit a diminished version in 2025, against the LA Galaxy twice. The first match at Toyota Stadium and on October 11, they will face each other in Carson.
Once again, Croatian Musa appeared for FC Dallas. Julio Santos later equalized twice after the team fell behind twice. FC Dallas drew against the Timbers, while LA Galaxy failed to win an important match for them. They lost the Champions Cup trophy against Toluca.
The reigning MLS champions were unable to beat the Mexican team in a particularly painful defeat: Fagundez's penalty kick gave them a 1-0 lead, Gabriel Pec's goal made it 2-1, but a disastrous final 10 minutes for the Los Angeles team saw them lose, conceding two goals after the 88th minute.
