Carlos Alcaraz looks to punch into the round-of-32 as he squares off with Fabian Marozsan of Hungary on Wednesday at the 2025 French Open.
Alcaraz cruised through to an easy win over Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri 6-3 6-4 6-2 in the first round. It marked the 7th straight victory for Alcaraz, who ruled the Italian Open by beating world’s No.1 Jannik Sinner in the final over a week ago in Rome. The result may not be as dominant as many expected, but Alcaraz might be saving up his best tricks for the tougher matches ahead in his French Open defense.
Marozsan moved on to the second round with a three-set win over Luca Nardi 6-2 6-3 7-6(3). Hungary’s No.1 men’s singles player landed only 58 percent of his first serves but he more than compensated it by winning 27 points off his second serves. Marozsan also broke Nardi 5 times despite winning just 23 return points.
