Eugenie Bouchard of Canada will take on Emiliana Arango of Colombia in what could likely be her final tennis match as a pro on Tuesday at the 2025 National Bank Open.
Bouchard, a former Wimbledon Open finalist and world’s No.5, announced that she would be retiring from professional tennis after the 2025 National Bank Open in Montreal. Bouchard, who received a wild card entry in the tourney, will be playing only her second match this year. The Canadian played his first match this year at the 2025 Hall of Fame Open in New York, losing to Annar Sinclair Rogers of the United States 7-5 6-2.
Arango has lost six of his last seven matches, including her recent setback to Taylor Townsend 4-6, 2-6 in the final qualification match at the 2025 Mubadala Citi Open in Washington. Arago carries a 19-16 record in 2025, including a 13-4 on the hard court this year.

Our Eugénie Bouchard vs Emiliana Arango Prediction
Eugenie Bouchard will not ride into the sunset without giving Canadian tennis fans one last big fight. Bouchard opened as a +240 underdog ahead of her first-round match against the 82nd-ranked Arango. Bouchard had tried to stay away from the WTA Tour since her loss to Moyuka Uchijima 5-7 7-5 6-4 in a qualification match at last year’s National Bank Open. After several months of inactivity, Bouchard competed at Newport, losing to a relatively unknown Anna Sinclair Rogers in the first round.
A few days later, Bouchard revealed her plans to retire after competing at the National Bank Open. Honestly, it’s starting to look like this will be the last time we will see Bouchard play on the WTA Tour. Arango is taking a rock-solid 13-4 record into her match with Bouchard.
Bouchard is expected to give everything in her power to cap her trailblazing career on a high note. Matchstats gives Bouchard a 22.8 percent win probability against Arango, but playing at Center Court with thousands of Canadian fans cheering her on should give her enough motivation to at least put up a noteworthy fight down to the very end.
Our betting prediction for Eugenie Bouchard vs. Emiliana Arango: Eugenie Bouchard +4.5 Games.
