At Wimbledon on Wednesday, it's time for second-round action, and on the female side of things, the British number one will be in action. Emma Raducanu takes on Marketa Vondrousova. Having burst onto the scene at this tournament as a teenager a few years ago, Raducanu has struggled to be at her best when playing at her home slam, but she's in decent form right now, and with a home crowd behind her, can she go deeper than she ever has? It's not impossibe, but it's not ideal that she's been drawn against Marketa Vondrousova in the second round.
Do not be fooled by the current ranking of the Czech player, who but for time spent away from the court thanks to injury would be a top ten player. Vondrousova won Wimbledon back in 2023, while she has recently made a fantastic return to the grass, winning the event in Germant last week, while she looked like a player that meas business when beating McCartney Kessler in straight sets during the first round.
