Emma Raducanu of Great Britain and Daria Kasatkina will lock horns on Monday in the first round of the 2025 Strasbourg International.
After reaching her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal appearance in Miami over a month ago, Raducanu went deep again, this time on the clay court of Rome, reaching the round of 16 at the 2025 Italian Open. Raducanu defeated Maya Joint 7-5 6-7(1) 6-3, Jil Teichmann 6-2 6-2, and Veronika Kudermetova 5-7 6-0 6-1 to clinch her first round-of-16 appearance in a big clay-court event such as the Italian Open. Raducanu’s run ended with a loss to Coco Gauff 1-6, 2-6.
Things haven’t been smooth on the court for Kasatkina since she started representing Australia on the WTA circuit. The Russian-born Kasatkina is only 2-3 since the switch in the Federation, going only as deep as the third round of Charleston and Madrid Open this clay-court season.
