It’s an All-American clash in the quarterfinal round of the 2025 China Open as No.5 seed Jessica Pegula battles No.16 seed Emma Navarro on Thursday in Beijing, China.

Pegula opened as a -235 favorite because of her reputation as a top-10 player.

However, Navarro has established herself an intriguing underdog option at +188 moneyline after pulling off an upset on the top seed Iga Swiatek in the fourth round.

Pegula secured another quarterfinal appearance this year after hacking out a gritty win over Marta Kostyuk 6-3, 6-7, 6-1 on Wednesday. The American, who also gutted out a 3-6, 7-6, 6-0 win over Emma Raducanu in the previous round, broke Kostyuk 8 times, three of which came in the third set. Pegula will be playing in her 9th quarterfinals this year after going 6-2 in the 8th last eight matches.

Navarro came through with arguably her best performance of the year to stun former world’s No.1 Iga Swiatek 6-4 4-6 6-0 in their fourth-round showdown. Navarro collected 40 points behind the first serves and won six breakpoints against an in-form Swiatek, who is fresh off a title at Seoul. With the victory, Navarro is through to her 8th quarterfinal this year.
