No.2 seed Katie Boulter will vie for a place in the semifinal round of the 2025 Trophee Clarins on Friday when she goes head-to-head with Elsa Jacquemot in the round of 8.
Boulter reached the quarterfinal stage of the WTA 125 event after besting Erika Andreeva of Rusia 6-4 6-4 and Daria Seville of Australia 6-3 6-0 in the first two rounds. In her latest victory over Seville, Boulter landed 72 percent of her first serves, capturing 28 of the 68 points she scored in the match. The Brit also Seville six times while allowing the latter to record a single service break.
Jacquemot has racked up three consecutive wins to make this far in the tourney. Ranked No.140 in the world, Jacquemot has ousted two WTA top-1000 players in her last two matches, the latest was a 6-4 ret. win over Great Britain’s Sonay Kartal, who ranks at No.56 in the world rankings. Jacquemot has amassed a 23-15 record this year, including a 10-8 record on clay.
