On the WTA side of things in Rome on Sunday, Elise Mertens takes on Irina-Camelia Begu. The Belgian took a rather sizable step forward on Friday when beating a highly in-form Katerina Siniakova in straight sets. By taking the first set in decisive fashion, she showed her quality, while she showed plenty of heart and grit to close out what was a much tougher second set.
