Alexandrova lived up to her status as a seeded player with a dominant 6-4 6-2 win over Lulu Sun of New Zealand. The No.16-ranked Alexandrova won 83 percent of her first serves while breaking serves six times to dispatch the Kiwi in straight sets. Alexandrova, who lost to Lin Zhu in the second round of the 2025 Canadian Open, 1-6 6-2 6-4, is 6-8 on the hard court in 2025.
