On Saturday night, the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers meet at Amerant Bank Arena for their first matchup since the 2025 Stanley Cup Final.
After meeting in back-to-back Finals, the two teams have gone in opposite directions. Despite dealing with an injury crisis, the Panthers are once again in contention to win their division, while the Oilers are struggling to keep up in the postseason race.
Edmonton will enter Saturday's special matchup on a three-game losing streak. The team dropped to 9-9-5 for the season after suffering a 2-1 overtime defeat against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday.
The Panthers are 11-8-1 and fresh off a 1-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils. Sam Reinhart kept his recent hot spell going with his 11th goal of the year, while Sergei Bobrovsky became only the third netminder in the league with multiple shutouts for the season.
Florida's work this week also includes an 8-5 victory against the Vancouver Canucks. On Saturday, Paul Maurice's men attempt to record a third consecutive win for the first time since beginning the 2025-26 campaign with a winning run.
