Olimpia Milano faces Maccabi Tel Aviv away in the 13th round of the Euroleague regular season after the “shock” of Ettore Messina's departure. The coach resigned and the team was entrusted to Peppe Poeta. The match will be played on neutral ground at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall.
Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently in crisis, and with the arrival of Lonnie Walker during the summer, no one expected such disappointing results. After 12 Euroleague rounds, it has a 3-9 record and is at the bottom of the standings along with Asvel. In its last five games, it has managed to win only once, against Baskonia, and before that game, it lost 99-89 away to Virtus Bologna.
Olimpia Milano has not had much luck so far this season, with numerous injuries affecting its performance, and now Messina's departure has added to its woes. To make matters worse, Josh Nebo recently suffered a concussion that forced him out again, although he should now be back. Before losing 105-83 to Hapoel Tel Aviv, Milano was on a four-game winning streak. It is now 6-6, in the middle of the standings.
