The Northern Iowa Panthers (16-10, 8-7 MVC) will look to get back on the right side of the scoreboard today after losing to Belmont 91-86 on the road last Thursday. To that end, they’ll host the Drake Bulldogs (12-15, 6-10 MVC) at the McLeon Center in Cedar Falls, IA. Fans can follow the action on the CBS Sports Network once the game gets underway at 3 p.m. EST.
Northern Iowa looked like a team that might compete for the conference title earlier in the season. They had gotten off to a solid 12-3, 4-0 MVC start to the season, but then hit a rough patch starting with a January 7 game vs. Belmont. They lost that one 78-65 and went on to lose five in a row before getting back on track with a win over Murray State. Since that game, they’ve gone 3-2, including a loss in their last game, Feb. 12, vs. Belmont (91-86). As for Drake, the Bulldogs have struggled throughout most of the season and need a four-game sweep to end the regular season with an above .500 record. They are currently on a five-game losing streak after falling to UIC last Thursday, 80-70.

Our Northern Iowa Panthers vs Drake Bulldogs Prediction
I have no idea why the public is going so heavy on the OVER. Drake has a mediocre defense on its best days and a decent offense. But Northern Iowa has one of the worst offenses in the country (No. 330 in scoring) to go with the No. 1 defense in the country (61.2 points per game allowed). Both games last season finished UNDER this TOTAL, and today should be the same.
Our Drake vs. Northern Iowa Pick: UNDER 137.5
