On Thursday, during the early morning if you're watching stateside, at the WTA event in the German capital of Berlin, there's a very interesting match between Diana Shnaider and Market Vondrousova. Don't be fooled by the rankings here, this is a match between two top players, and now that Marketa Vondrousova is fit again, this is exactlty the sort of match that the former Wimbledon winner will be looking to dominate.
The pair will meet for the second time this season, having faced off in Australia back in January, when Vondrousova was a set to the good before having to withdraw through injury. The 2023 Wimbledon champion made a fantastic return to the grass last time out, beating world number six and fellow Grand Slam winner Madison Keys in straight sets, reminding us all what a terrific grass-court player she is. Diana Shnaider, watch out, that's all I can say.
