The Miami Marlins will play host to the Detroit Tigers for a three-game series starting on Friday at loanDepot Park.

In the series finale, lefty Ryan Weathers logged five scoreless innings while Eric Wagaman recorded three RBIs to power Miami to a 5-0 win over the Nats. After allowing 22 runs in two games earlier this week, Miami has lowered its ERA over the past five games to 5.40. Miami also averages 6.4 runs per game while batting .286 in the last five games.
The Tigers dominated the Yankees in the first two games (12-2 in Game 1 and 11-1 in Game 2) before dropping a 3-9 loss in Game 3. Nevertheless, Detroit has improved its record to 84-63 to build an 8.5-game lead on the 75-71 Cleveland Guardians with barely three weeks left in the regular season. The Tigers continue to dominate opponents with their pitching, posting a 3.68 ERA over the last five games. Furthermore, Detroit is averaging 7.5 runs per game this week after scoring 26 runs in the three-game series against the Yankees.
