The Detroit Lions will try to extend their winning streak to nine games Sunday when they face the Colts in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Surprisingly, the opening line had the 9-1 Lions just a 2.5-point favorite vs. the 5-6 Colts. But the line has since moved and has the Lions listed at -7.5.
Detroit has been an absolute force to be reckoned with. The offense is coming off a day vs. the Jaguars where they could do no wrong on offense; Jared Goff threw for 400+, and the run game ran for close to 200 yards. The Lions do have a solid defense, but the final score (52-6) could be due in part to the Jaguars giving up. With the playoffs still a realistic possibility, the Colts can’t afford to lose too many more. Joe Flacco didn’t get the desired results, so the team turned back to rookie Anthony Richardson last week and he stepped up (20-30 for 272 yards and a touchdown; 10 carries for 32 yards and two touchdowns).
But competing against a dysfunctional Jets team and against arguably one of the best teams in the NFL, in the Lions, are two different things.
