The hotly anticipated final of the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup takes place on Saturday, as fierce Mexican rivals Toluca and Tigres lock horns at Estadio Nemesio Diez.
Both sides cruised into the final by comfortably defeating sides from the US at the semi final stage: Toluca overcame a 2-1 first leg deficit to thump LAFC 5-2 on aggregate, whilst two 1-0 victories were enough to see Tigres dispose of Nashville SC.
Thanks to their superior record in the earlier stages of the competition, Toluca will have the home advantage in the final, and that could prove crucial given Tigres' miserable recent record at the Estadio Nemesio Diez, where they have won just five of their last 27 games.
Toluca will also be fielding the tournament's top scorer so far - Portuguese striker Paulinho has scored an impressive eight goals in the Champions Cup, two more than any other player.

Deportivo Toluca FC - Tigres UANL: Form Analysis
Toluca have racked up an impressive 18 goals in six games en route to the final, with 12 of those goals coming at the Estadio Nemesio Diez, courtesy of big wins over San Diego, LA Galaxy and LA FC. However, after defeating Tigres on penalties to win the Apertura earlier in the season, Toluca will not be adding this year's Clausura to their list of honours, as back-to-back defeats against Pachuca saw them fall at the quarter final stage of the playoffs.
Tigres looking for revenge
It's been a mixed bag of a season for Tigres - they performed superbly in the Apertura to finish second in the regular season, but fell at the final hurdle against Toluca. However, they were not able to replicate that form in the Clausura, as following a 7th place regular season finish, they were edged out by Guadalajara in the first round of the playoffs.

Marcel Ruiz is the big injury absence for Toluca. The Mexican midfielder suffered a torn ACL during the victory over San Diego earlier in the tournament and is set to remain on the sidelines for several more months.
