In the final fight of the prelims on Saturday night, Dennis Buzukja (12-5-0) will square off with Marcio Barbosa (17-2-0). While neither fighter is currently in the rankings of the Featherweight division, Marcio Barbosa could well be on his way if he can continue the way he has fought leading up to this UFC debut.
Dennis Buzukja has not found much success since joining the UFC in 2023. To be fair, he was thrown to the wolves and faced some steep competition as a newcomer. He lost to Sean Woodson in his debut and then got finished by Jamall Emmers in his next opportunity. After finally picking up his 1st win in the UFC over Connor Matthews, he suffered another defeat to Francis Marshall. Since the Marshall fight in August of 2024, he has been inactive. Now, he gets tossed out there again against a fighter looking to take everyone’s head off.
Marico Barbosa will be making his UFC debut in this fight. He had been fighting in the LFA before his shot on Dana White’s Contender Series. There, he finished Damon Wilson in the 1st round. That finish marked the 4th straight 1st round finish for Barbosa. It was also the 14th KO/TKO victory in his 17 career wins.

Barbosa is likely to come out and look for the finish early like he has done in most of his recent fights. Buzukja would be smart to avoid the early flurry, but that is something he may not be able to control due to Barbosa’s pace. Even if this one is to get into the 2nd round, we still like Barbosa to find a way to finish him before the final bell.
